Letter from HGLD Product Manager

Hi, This is Janelle.

I just received a letter from Hellgate: London Product Manager,
and i hope this will help you with your inquiries.

Below is the original message.

To the fans of Hellgate: London,

We wish to express our gratitude to all the fans for showing your passion and dedication to Hellgate: London.

Since acquiring the intellectual property rights, HanbitSoft Inc., the publisher and distributor of Hellgate: London in Asia, has concentrated on the development of Hellgate: London, and has received many inquiries regarding new updates. Our US development studio is currently working on an update that is to surpass “The Abyss Chronicles.” This game will be available through our Web site. We thank you once again for showing your interest and ask for your continuous support for Hellgate: London, as we hope to bring good news shortly. In the meantime, we will continue developing the world’s best game!

Sincerely,
Hellgate: London Product Manager - also a fellow user that loves to play Hellgate: London

Gratz on obtaining HG:L. It's a messy game, with a messy past.
But it's unlike anything else out there.
I wish you (and by proxy me, since I play) the best.

Thank you Hanbitsoft. I'm REALLY excited and I can't wait to see what you have in store for us. My only lingering question is whether or not the US players will be able to keep their multi-player characters, but I guess that is something we will have to wait and see.

Happy Halloween, and again, I can't wait to hear more news soon!

Thank you for the info on hopefully relaunching Hellgate London! Please DON'T nerf Marksmen or it'll drive players away!

I would suggest renaming it to Hellgate: Abyss as that way you will get NEW REVIEWS & MORE COVERAGE/MEDIA ATTENTION & better marketing so that Hellgate: Abyss becomes a success in USA (it needs to be renamed as an expansion because most media will not review an old game like Hellgate London unless it has a big new expansion with a different name --and Hellgate London got mostly bad reviews because it was so buggy & incomplete when it was released last year so it needs new reviews that it's vastly improved with more expanded features

Please tell us new info as soon as possible on Hellgate: Abyss relaunching because you are losing customers because they are abandoning the game thinking it's pointless because their characters will be deleted when the game will be shutdown in Jan 2009 and their characters (and all the hard work they did) will be deleted...-there are arguments on the forums right now -I posted a link to just 1 thread below ..there's plenty of more threads/debates below --being slient does not help.. please post a response or announcement urgently to stop more people from leaving

To keep more customers, can you post saying that characters will be saved or transferred to the new servers/relaunch?

My post:
2.0 Abyss was great...I was getting bored of Stonehenge but Abyss not only adds a huge new areas 4x bigger than Stonehenge but also adds new elements & graphics like the (when I was on test center, things I liked in Abyss:
1).. the acheiverment perks/traits were AWESOME (it's like 5 free dye slots of free bonus traits u choose(like +% to dam to certain mobs, +% healing rate/power rate, +armor, +speed, like expanded ranks) u get from doing all sorts of cool things from killing certain mobs, doing or finding certain things --and they said they'll be expandding the acheivements list)
as well as

2) Auction house (yay! --saves alot of time getting rid of all the loot & finding better loot)

3) free skill, rank, attrib retrainers for each char

4) the new special effects graphics are spectacular (the strikes & other area effects are so much better, as are the levels & new mobs boss).. if Habitsoft is smart, they'll rename the new game/expansion as Hellgate: Abyss .. this will get new reviews (as any expansion would), better marketing & PR.. advertise it as NEW, IMPROVED, MORE AREAS, MORE BOSSES, MORE LOOT, BETTER CHAT, etc

5) Better chat & PvP party list/match making (similar to calling up/adding to party list now, but u make a PvP list checkbox (similar to GuildWars)
And I would sub again (it's the only 3d rpg online RPG shooter on the market, not slow-turnbased combat where u can't dodge or evade fireballs.. even GuildWars & every other RPG, Conan, Tabula Rasa, etc --all of them are really turn-based where u can't dodge/evade shots, etc.. except for Hellgate --it's like playing Halo3 or CounterStrike (if u play a Hunter or Engineer or Evoker) with RPG --but I would hate to lose my char (but hopefully, they;'ll transfer chars over ..they'll lose profits/customers if they don't (that's just throwing money away) --and the RedBana employee said to keep playing/don't give up on your chars so there's a good chance chars will transfer (since everything Hellgate is transferred over to Habitsoft, including the current chars)

6) Korea already has Capture the Flag & better PvP arenas (like the Abyss areas)..they've really surpassed what was in Abyss

If Abyss came out sooner, FFS would have been saved (Abyss was that good.. far better than Stonehenge & ranks)

This sounds great! And especially if you also plan to Include U.S. and E.U. servers. Can someone please give an answer on that.

Thank you for the update.

As I'm sure you have already seen, there's a great deal of interest and support in seeing HGL continue in the NA and EU markets.

I look forward to hearing more updates about HGL and hope to be able to have the option to continue playing it into the future.

Just want to say, even if we all have to start over from square one, I'd gladly do so to be able to continue playing.

Bring HGL back to North America!

I just bought this game, after a few short hours i popped online and realized my new 50$ purchase was about to die in a few months. This game had better find a new life before cut off or im gonna be PISSED. regardless i wish hanbitsoft well and hope they do rescue us...... my few short hours were enough to make me really like this game.

Please keep trying to revive Hellgate in NA and EU. At the very least I'd like a singleplayer patch, or paid downloadable expansion if you must, that fixes the bugs and maybe adds some of the content that's missing for single player.

It's a neat game with lots of potential, I agree. It's felt like a 3D, Futuristic and Shooter-ish version of Diablo at first play, and that style is among the reasons I like it.

I am looking for contact information for the book rights. I was in contact with Roper's in-house attorney before HanbitSoft took over and am having problems reaching someone who can help me continue my inquiries.

Could you please contact me?
